Twenty-one different Iranian artists from Ontario will feature their work for one week this March at a gallery in downtown Toronto.
Founded by Iranian-Canadian artist Mr. Gholamhossein Nami in 2008, the Nami Iranian-Canadian Centre for the Arts (NICCA), with a membership of over 40 artists, will be presenting its first group art project titled ‘Walls’.
Artists involved with the 21 walls, 21 artists project are:
Azadeh Houshmand, Bahareh Soltani, Hamid Rafinejad, Simin Sepehri, Shamsi Shahrokhi, Gholamhossein Nami, Farideh Esfandi, Farideh Shahsavarani (guest artist), Firoozeh Athari, Kamelia Pezeshki, Ladan Jazayeri, Mahnaz Piroozfar, Mehdi Pourian, Mehraban Mehrabani, Nazanin Fartash, Narges Alavi, Negar Pooya, Nona Soheilnia, Hadi Farahani, Hashim Taghavi, Parham Didehvar
The project comprises of works from 21 Iranian artists from Ontario and includes paintings, photographs, installations, sculpture, and video art.
The opening reception will take place on Friday March 8th, 2013 (6:00 pm to 10:00 pm) at the Distillery District’s Arta Gallery (14 Distillery Lane) and will run for one week.
