TORONTO- As part of the Liberal Party of Canada’s leadership race, Justin Trudeau participated in the third all candidates debate last Saturday in the GTA.
Justin spoke passionately about the need for Canada to keep our immigration system open not just for workers but for families too. He also reaffirmed that one of Canada’s greatest strengths is that there is a clear path to citizenship.
“I think one of the great strengths of Canada – and we can all agree on this one – is a strong, robust, open immigration system” said Trudeau. “Having Jason Kenney and Mr. Harper attacking family reunification and slotting immigrants into worker classes rather than recognizing their nature as nation builders and community builders and families is part of where it breaks down.”
He also provided substantive views on job creation, income equality, access to education, and the importance of reconnecting with Canadian voters.
