Pan Am Games Committee reaches out to GTA

The Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee officially announced the formation of its Community Engagement Council (CEC) this week.

The CEC will aim to network with “community leaders across the region to help maximize participation in the Games by individuals, families, businesses and communities,” a media release said.

The council is chaired by former Paralympian and current Treasurer for the Trinidad Association of Ontario Giselle M. Cole as well as Mr. Fernando Lusvarghi.

“This council is helping us extend our reach so that all members of the region can participate and take advantage of the opportunities that the Games present,” said Zenia Wadhwani, Director of Community Outreach. “From community organizations interested in creating their own Pan Am programming to families wanting to learn more about the Games sport program, the Community Engagement Council will work to raise awareness and excitement across the Games footprint.”
