جمع آوری یک نوع از ایمپلنت های سینه در کانادا و جهان

کانادا لایسنس تولید یکنوع از ایمپلنت های سینه را به خاطر ریسک سرطان، کنسل کرده. به دنبال تصمیم کانادا، کمپانی عظیم دارویی  Allergan PLC اعلام کرد داوطلبانه ایمپلنت های سینه دارای بافت   Biocell را از سطح جهان جمع آوری می کند.

این کمپانی بین المللی در بیانیه خبری که در دوبلین ایرلند منتشر کرد گفت به دنبال دریافت اطلاعات جدید ایمنی از سازمان غذا و داروی آمریکا، از سر احتیاط اقدام به جمع آوری این ایمپلنت ها می کند.

وزارت بهداشت و درمان کانادا در ماه می اعلام کرد که بعد از تکمیل بررسی های ایمنی که از دو سال پیش شروع شده بود، لایسنس های مربوط به ایمپلنت های سینه از نوع   Biocell macro-textured  را کنسل کرده.

وزارت بهداشت و درمان در آن زمان گفته بود که از ۲۲ مورد تایید شده بیماری لیمفومای مرتبط با ایمپلنت های سینه نوع مذکور، مطلع شده.

Allergan expands recall of Biocell textured breast implants following Canadian ban

Toronto – Allergan PLC says it’s voluntarily recalling Biocell textured breast implants and tissue expanders worldwide, a move that follows Canada’s suspension of the product’s licenses due to potential risks from cancer.

The international pharmaceutical company says in a press release from Dublin, Ireland that it’s issuing the recall as a precaution following recently updated safety information from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

However, Health Canada announced in May that it had suspended the licenses for Biocell macro-textured breast implants after completing a safety review that was launched two years ago.

The Canadian agency said at the time that it had been notified of 22 confirmed Canadian cases of breast-implant-associated lymphoma involving Allergan’/s Biocell breast textured implants, but no cases with smooth implants.

Allergan told Health Canada at the time it would voluntarily recall unused Biocell devices from the Canadian market.

The company now says healthcare providers worldwide should immediately stop using Biocell saline-filled and silicone-filled textured breast implants and tissue expanders, and unused devices are being recalled from all markets.
